Services
Consultation: Matt Van Boven offers consultation services to land managers of all scales, from homeowner gardeners to large operations. He gains an understanding of your specific site goals and needs, then helps you refine your options. Matt will offer solutions to difficult sites, reliance on expensive inputs, and repetitive practices. He also offers guidance in: homestead/garden development, low maintenance plants, potential niche crops, ground covers, reforestation and more.
Site Assessment: By visiting your site, Matt will pinpoint the growing variables, recommend site specific plant species and cultivation strategies, potential niche crops, mixed-cropping potentials, strengths/weaknesses of current cultivation practices, and native plant identification.
Design: Matt develops client/site specific agroforestry and permaculture designs based on the data gathered from the site analysis and discussions with the client. His designs range from backyard garden design, homestead systems design, edible and medicinal focused landscapes, agroforestry integration on existing farms, forage and fodder systems for livestock, to large scale habitat restoration. He can work with landscapers, landscape architects, and other designers to find site appropriate species that are compatible with existing vegetation. Matt's designs focus on incorporating ground covers, trees, shrubs, over-story trees, and support species that gather fertility, create organic matter, and provide habitat for beneficial insects. Matt aims to create systems that require as little effort & inputs as possible and offer higher production and ecological services.
